Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the second annual meeting of our EIC Pathfinder Open network SMARTdrugs at King’s College London, bringing together brilliant minds from across institutions and disciplines, featuring Angela Casini, Miguel Castanho, Jason Holland, Jordi Llop, Alex Poot, and Tim Witney.

Our talented PhD students took the stage to present their impressive progress over the past year. Their dedication and innovative approaches continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the SMARTdrugs development.

We were also inspired by two exceptional guest talks:

1. Maria from Bioemtech, who shared cutting-edge insights from her work in biomedical imaging and diagnostics.
2. Muhammet Tanc, founder of his own company Nuclide Therapeutics, gave us a glimpse into the entrepreneurial journey and the exciting future of smart therapeutics.

Special thanks go out to our wonderful hosts and organisers, Tim Witney and Rosie Lewis, whose thoughtful planning and warm hospitality ensured the event ran smoothly and created plenty of space for exciting discussions and meaningful connections.

The meeting was a great reminder of how powerful collaboration and curiosity can be when it comes to driving scientific progress. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it a success!
