He obtained his bachelor&#8217;s and master&#8217;s degrees in the University of Padova under the supervision of Prof. Cristiano Zonta working on molecular recognition events, organic synthesis and spectroscopy. The following step in his pathway was the Ph.D. in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering obtained at EPFL under the joint supervision of Prof. Kay Severin from the Laboratoire de Chimie Supramol\u00e9culaire and Dr. Cristian Pezzato. He then moved into the field of theoretical chemistry for his PhD at Cardiff University under the joint supervision of Prof. Angela Casini and Dr. Stefano Leoni. Here he worked on atomistic molecular dynamics calculations of biological mechanisms, ligand\/target interactions and enhanced sampling methods for free energy calculations (metadynamics), including forcefield building and parametrisation. Darren then worked as a postdoc at the Technical University of Munich, working on the enhanced sampling of biological targets, host\/guest interactions, free energy methods, DFT and docking calculations. During her Bachelor&#8217;s thesis, she specialized on sugar chemistry in the field of natural product synthesis under the guidance of Prof. Reinhard Br\u00fcckner. In her Master&#8217;s thesis, she worked in the fields of&nbsp;&nbsp;molecular biology and biochemistry with Prof. Oliver Einsle.&nbsp;Since starting her PhD in February 2024, Deborah shifted gears to focus&nbsp;on the field of supramolecular chemistry.
